How it works

The Wisdom Record

Each contribution becomes one Wisdom Record — small enough to complete in under an hour, complete enough to genuinely matter. Not your life story. One lesson.

The four parts

1. The Person's Voice

A short recording, in the contributor's own language. Voice carries what text cannot — hesitation, humour, conviction, the exact weight a person gives to the thing that mattered most. It is, and remains, the original source. Everything else — transcript, translation, summary — is a derived version of it, and is always labelled as one.

2. A Clear Wisdom Note

The experience, organised around a few honest questions: What happened? What did you do? What worked, and what failed? What would you do differently? What should someone else watch for? Think of it as a method of procedure — for life, not machinery.

3. Four or Five Photographs

A portrait. A workplace. A tool, a handwritten note, a meaningful object. Enough to give the voice a face, and the lesson a place it came from.

4. Identity and Context

With the contributor's permission: their name, their place, their years of experience. Narvyaka preserves the lesson and the person who earned it — because a lesson without its author quietly becomes advice from nowhere, and loses half its weight.

Video Can Wait. Wisdom Cannot.

A professionally filmed interview needs a crew, equipment, editing, and a budget most people preserving a lesson today do not have. Waiting for that budget means losing the interviews that couldn't wait.

Audio needs almost none of that. It is affordable, portable, easy to translate — and, most importantly, it keeps the contributor's actual voice, not a professional's rendering of it, at the centre of the record.

Every Wisdom Record can grow later — into an article, a podcast, a documentary, a book. But the source has to be captured first, while the person carrying it is still here to give it. Everything else can wait. This can't.

How Narvyaka Will Grow

No single company, website or government will ever be the sole guardian of what Narvyaka preserves. Durability isn't a promise you make once. It's a responsibility you keep showing up for.

    The original evidence

    The untouched recording and the original photographs, exactly as they came from the contributor. Nothing is ever edited in place. The recording remains the permanent source of truth.

    Open, documented formats

    Plain text and standard images that a person can open in fifty years with no special software — with regular migration as technology changes.

  3. 3

    Deliberate redundancy

    Independent backups and trusted institutional partners, so the archive does not depend on any one organisation continuing to exist.

Dignity, Consent, and Truth

Narvyaka preserves people, not content. No record is published without informed, specific consent — the contributor decides, in plain language, what becomes public, what stays private, and what happens to their words. Private pain is never turned into entertainment, and a record is never selected because it might go viral. Every submission arrives marked 'pending review' and a person reads it before it goes anywhere.

How certainty is marked

Records are not silently presented as fact. Each carries one of exactly three labels, and no record is left unmarked.

Documented
Supported by records, artefacts or independent sources that can be pointed to.
Contributor's Account
First-hand testimony from the person who was there. Not independently confirmed, and not treated as lesser for it.
Family Tradition
Knowledge passed down and reported as it was received, with the chain of telling shown rather than hidden.

Our Rule for Building

Every feature proposal must answer three questions. If the answer is not yes to all three, it is set aside.

  1. 01 Does this help preserve expertise?
  2. 02 Will it still be useful fifty years from now?
  3. 03 Does it respect the contributor's ownership and intent?

Technology may help people find human wisdom. It must never replace the human being at the centre of it.
